NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Methodist men's and women's indoor track and field teams participated in the Holiday Open, hosted by Christopher Newport, on Saturday.

On the women's side,
Jovani Culver ran a 27.03 in the 200m and placed 15th in a field of 66 runners, while
Alexis Harris recorded a time of 28.74.
Makayla Lawler placed fifth in the mile run with a time of 5:40.54 and
Ally Mattera finished in seventh place. Harris also placed inside the top half of the long jump with a leap of 4.97 meters.

For the men,
Jeremy Prichard took fourth place in the 800m after completing the race in 2:01.51. He also recorded a time of 4:47.44 in the mile run to finish in the top half of competitors.
Tony Taylor ran the 400m in 52.48 to take sixth place and also finished the 200m run in 23.85 to place in the top half of a field consisting of 69 runners.
Emmanuel Allen also ran the 400m and finished with a time of 54.26.

Methodist is idle for the remainder of 2017 and returns to action on Jan. 20, 2018, at the Wake Forest Invitational.
