MONTGOMERY, Ala. --
Hillary Petruska's run in the “B” singles draw came to an end as the Methodist women's tennis team wrapped up the three-day ITA Regional Championships hosted by Huntingdon College on Sunday afternoon.
Petruska advanced all the way to Sunday's final before falling, 6-1; 6-1 to Kate Johnson of Sewanee. Petruska also had a chance to claim a title in the consolation bracket of the “A” doubles flight, but was foiled once again as she and
Isabella Graf dropped a 6-3; 6-2 match to Hannah Still and Britni Thibadeau of the host Hawks.
Also slated to take part in the event's final day was the Monarchs'
Rachel Purser, who had advanced to the semifinal round of the “A” singles flight's consolation bracket. However, the results of her matches were not immediately available.
With the culmination of the ITA Regional event, the Monarchs have wrapped up their fall schedule and will return to competition in February.
