FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Throughout the summer the Methodist University Department of Athletics will feature a student-athlete from each team on the web site. The student-athlete will have the opportunity to answer a hodge podge of questions, almost completely unrelated to their athletic performance to give Methodist fans an inside look at the Monarchs.
Greg Patterson recently completed his sophomore year at Methodist while competing with the men's tennis team. This past season he went 12-9 in singles dual matches primarily at number three and finished 16-6 in doubles dual matches primarily at number two. Patterson earned USA South Honorable Mention recognition helping the team to tie for second in the conference standings. He is a two-time Methodist Scholar Athlete and USA South Academic All-Conference selection and was most recently named the 2011-12 Methodist Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

I will always take the great bonds that I've formed with my teammates.
12. What quote or motto do you always keep in the back of your head?
Not really a quote but whenever I'm on court and I'm losing I just always think of a pretty famous saying in tennis which is that "it's not over until you've lost the last point", basically meaning that I always have a chance to come back. And it has definitely worked for me a few times!
13. What will you buy with your first paycheck post graduation?

When I'm at home and not at work, my favorite thing is to have no commitments during the day and just being able to do whatever I want with my time.
25. Why did you choose Methodist?
I chose Methodist primarily for the combination of playing top six on the tennis team and the Professional Tennis Management program, which I'm actually no longer a part of. But being on the team and having all of these great experiences with my teammates has made it worth it.
