NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Methodist men's and women's track & field teams took part in the Holiday Open hosted by Christopher Newport on Saturday.
Competing against Division I, II and III schools, highlight for the Monarchs incuded Keneshia Bigelow's 20th-place finish in the 800m, clocking in a 2:40.08. Kayla beavers finished 29th in the mile with a time of 6:14.25.
Sasha DeSousa was 16th in the shot put with a heave of 8.81 meters and 13th in the weight throw with a mark of 7.16 meters.
On the men's side,
Reggie Scales was 12th in the 60m with a time of 7.01 and
Roosevelt Colson was 36th with a time of 7.24. Colson also clocked in at 23.40 in the 200m to place 20th overall. In the shot put,
Joshua Harris was eighth with a mark of 12.83 meters and Matthew Rodriguez took 16th (10.42 meters).
Finally, in the weight throw the Monarchs were paced by Harris who took, 14th (10.57m), Rodriguez was 15th (10.51m) and
Travis Harrelson recorded a distance of 9.82 meters to finish 18th.
Methodist will return to action on January 12, when it takes part in the Dick Taylor Invitational at Chapel Hill.
