LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Methodist University track and field team had a great day with nine top-10 performances and 22 personal records broken.
Ashlynn Chavis was just shy of her personal best in the 60 meters, finishing third in 7.70 seconds while
Bria Wilson was right behind her with a personal best 7.78 seconds to place sixth.
Brittanie Morris set a new personal record and school record in the 60 meter hurdles finishing in 8.87 seconds for fourth place.
Melissa Groce finished fourth in the 200 meters (26.29) and second in the 400 meters (1:00.10).
Yvonne Goodwyn added a 10th place finish in the shot put at 11.52 meters.
On the men's side
Lincoln Carr followed up last week's feat with a first place finish and new school record in the triple jump at 15.51 meters.
Pierson Singleton finished third in the long jump at 6.99 meters.
Calvon Bowden earned fifth place in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.55 seconds and
Roosevelt Colson shaved nearly a tenth of a second off of his 60 meters time finishing in 7.14 seconds.
The Monarchs will be back at UNC next weekend as they compete in the Kent Taylor Invitational Feb. 3-4.
