BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Four Methodist baseball players were recognized with All-Region honors selected by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Sophomore
Trey Such and junior
Brian Inghram led the Monarchs with first team recognition. The Monarchs' starting catcher, Such led the team at the plate hitting .393 on the year with 13 home runs and 54 RBI. Earlier this year he was recognized as a USA South first team All-Conference selection and has notched first All-Region honor.
Inghram has earned his second consecutive first team All-Region recognition. He hit .375 for the year and was just behind Such with nine home runs and 53 RBI for the year. Inghram also earned first team All-Conference honors earlier this season.
Also recognized by the ABCA, senior
Kurt Kelly was named to the second team after finishing with an 8-3 record this season while carrying a 2.62 earned run average.
A third team selection, sophomore pitcher
Rusty White finished 3-1 on the mound with a team-high seven saves.
The ABCA All-America team will be announced Thursday evening as part of the national championship banquet.
