FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Salisbury offense came through on Friday afternoon with 12 runs to survive and advance against LaGrange College.
The Sea Gulls will be back to take on Mary Washington in the final game of the day scheduled for 6 p.m.
Salisbury opened with three runs in the first compliments of a three-run bomb to center field by first baseman Mike Celenza.
The Sea Gulls kept firing on all cylinders as they added two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to lead 7-0 through four. Salisbury added five unearned runs in the ninth inning to take the 12-0 lead.
LaGrange kept battling in the bottom of the ninth and Amauri Smith led off with a single and scored on a single from Eric Heath.
Smith finished 2-for-3 to lead the Panthers. Brian Green went 3-for-5 for the Sea Gulls to lead the team.
Kyle Judson pitched the complete game for Salisbury striking out five and giving up just five hits.
Neal Smith, James Connell, Taylor Smith, Jake Adcock and Heath contributed on the mound for LaGrange.
