CoSIDA Announces Academic All-District At-Large Teams

Flaherty and Taylor named Second Team selections

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has announced the 2010 Academic All-District at-large teams.  Methodist junior tennis players Kaitlin Flaherty and Matthew Taylor have earned second team honors.

Flaherty has maintained a 3.73 grade point average through the fall semester while earning top honors from the USA South Athletic Conference. She finished the 2009-10 year with a 21-3 dual singles record at the No. 1 spot and combined with Katherine Meindl to finish 20-4 at No. 1 doubles. At the conclusion of the regular season the conference voted Flaherty the USA South Player of the Year and she earned Most Valuable Player honors at the USA South Tournament.

Taylor serves as the No. 1 player on the men's tennis team and boasts a 3.84 cumulative grade point average. Team captain, Taylor finished the year with a 10-8 singles record and competed at No. 1 doubles with Robert Clayton to finish 11-8. This season he was also recognized as USA South First Team All-Conference selection.
