Monarchs Dominate N.C. Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Methodist women's lacrosse team used an 11-2 lead at halftime to cruise to the 20-3 victory at N.C. Wesleyan.

The Monarchs took on the Battling Bishops in their last USA South Athletic Conference game of the season jumping out to the quick 2-0 lead with goals from Kate Kaus and Abby Harmon. N.C. Wesleyan tallied their first goal before Methodist went on a 9-0 run. The Bishops added a goal just before halftime.

It was nearly all Methodist in the second half as the Monarchs outscored N.C. Wesleyan 9-1. Eight different players scored for the Monarchs helping the team to the 20-3 win.

Jasmine Stephens and Amber Jurkovac scored five a piece while Harmon added three goals. Kaus and Brittany St. Jacques scored two each with Kayleigh Sheets, Michaela Myers and Dawn Sanderson adding a goal.

Lindsey Cosgray made three saves in goal for the Monarchs. Sacajewia Evans had 14 stops for the Bishops.

Methodist will finish the season at Randolph on Monday at 7 p.m.
