BURLINGTON, N.C. - No. 2 Greensboro jumped out to the early lead and cruised to the 22-4 win over No. 3 Shenandoah in the second semifinal of the USA South Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
Greensboro opened the scoring with a goal in the first 26 seconds of play. Shenandoah's Sydney Anderson answered with a goal at the 28:03 mark. The Pride responded with five straight goals before Anderson scored her second goal of the day with 12:37 remaining.
Greensboro went on a 14-0 run extending into the second half to take the 20-2 lead. Ashley Heroth stopped the run with a goal for the Hornets at the 8:58 mark. Greensboro added two more goals while Shenandoah scored one additional goal.
Christie Hebert led Greensboro with five goals while Ashley Nolen and Layne Woodard had four a piece. Five additional players scored for the Pride.
Anderson led Shenandoah with two goals while goalkeeper Tori Beasley finished with 14 saves.
Greensboro advances to the championship Saturday at 1 p.m. against Christopher Newport.
