Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Savannah College of Art and Design took an early lead and finished with the 23-6 win over Methodist in the women's lacrosse season opener.
The Bees jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Methodist freshman
Alexa Veeder put the Monarchs on the board with a goal in the ninth minute. Junior
Amber Jurkovac added a goal later in the half, but SCAD held the 13-2 advantage at halftime.
The Methodist offense added four goals in the second half, but the Bees maintained control to finish with the 23-6 victory.
Veeder paced the Monarchs with three goals while Jurkovac scored two and sophomore
Jasmine Stephens added a goal and an assist. Senior goalkeeper
Lindsey Cosgray made seven saves.
The Monarchs will host Neumann in their home opener on Mar. 2 at 3:30 p.m.
