FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist University hosted the first stunt scrimmage on Sunday as one of the crucial steps to advancing the quest to become a NCAA sport.
Methodist hosted the first stunt training for coaches and officials. More than 30 coaches and officials from across the country arrived on Saturday for meetings regarding the upcoming stunt season. The season will begin in January and conclude in April at NCA College Nationals.
Sunday's schedule featured a mock game or scrimmage to add to the training experience. The Monarchs hosted the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a series of routines broken into quarters. Both teams performed each routine and the officials ruled which team performed it the best to award points.
USA Cheer is the organizing group behind the new sport with more information available on their
