CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Methodist men's and women's cross country teams traveled south this weekend to compete at the 29th Annual Will Wilson Citadel Invitational.
The NCAA Division II and III schools were grouped together with Methodist junior
Kristyn Zeiler winning the 5K race for her division in 18:37.99. She finished second overall behind Furman's Chloe Kowalski. Methodist sophomore
Katie Ballard placed 36th in 23:23.99 while freshman
Morgan Artis was right behind her in a personal best 23:27.02 for 37th place. Junior
Katelyn Jarrell finished 62nd in 27:21.59 for a personal record.
The men's team ran in the 8K race with freshman
Aaron Holmes leading the team in 30:51.74 for 26th place. Freshman
Lloyd Bronner ran a personal best 31:07.00 to place 27th and junior
Ryan Burchett placed 42nd in 33:11.52. Senior
Keon Hannibal finished with a personal record time of 34:58.63 to place 50th.
The Monarchs are scheduled to compete at the Hagan Stone Classic next Saturday in Pleasant Garden, N.C.
