FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Back on track! After several close losses to quality sides, it's nice to be on the right side of the score sheet again.

Despite losing two during the Soccer for a Cure tournament, we were able to look at the positives from the weekend and use them as motivation for our last match and many more to come. For a string of four games or so it seemed as though we would give it everything we had and luck would just not fall on our side. But finally the tides have turned. Despite being out shot, we controlled the entire second half and the overtime against Marietta on Saturday night. We proved to our fans and to ourselves that we are more then capable of beating quality opposition. Everyone who contributed and even those that did not showed tons of heart and a strong desire to win that carried us to victory.

When the overtime period started we knew the only option was to come out with a victory and it only took us seven minutes to do so. Everyone's confidence is growing and the team is coming together great. A rough start was to be expected with such a young squad, but with October looming and many conference games to come, we have put ourselves in a situation to win against any team on any given day.

We hope to see you all out at our next home game vs. Guilford College on Wednesday at 4 pm.
