Monarchs Come Away With Nine All-American Honors

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Methodist track and field finished up an award-winning season with nine All-American honors at the 2009 NCAA Championships.

In the 400 meter relay, the Monarchs finished fifth in 41.31 seconds. The team made up of Tazz Petty, Michael Hill, Cedric McGill, and Greg Bailey each earned All-American recognition.

In the 100 meter dash, senior Tazz Petty finished third in 10.76 seconds, his top career finish. Hill finished seventh overall in 12.09 seconds.

The Monarchs finished up in the 200 meter final with Bailey placing seventh in 21.86 seconds and Hill placing eighth in 24.44 seconds.

Additionally, Ashlynn Chavis earned All-American honors on Thursday placing third in the long jump.
