USA South Announces All-Conference Lacrosse Awards
Jasmine Stephens named Rookie of the Year
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for lacrosse.  A total of 25 student-athletes have been named to the teams for lacrosse. Four Methodist players received recognition by the conference.

Jasmine Stephens has been named the USA South Rookie of the Year. A freshman from Clemmons, North Carolina, Stephens led all USA South rookies in scoring with 39 points on 35 goals and four assists. She also collected 22 draw controls, 19 groundballs and four caused turnovers during the season. For her efforts, Stephens was named First Team All-Conference as a midfielder. Finally, Stephens received USA South Rookie of the Week honors twice this spring.

Joining Stephens on the First Team is attacker Andrea DiStefano and defender Dawn Sanderson. DiStefano led the USA South in scoring with 43 goals and five assists with a program-high 10 goals against Tennessee Wesleyan in March. Sanderson racked up 30 ground balls and nine caused turnovers for the Monarchs while she shut down opponents' top scorer.

Junior goalkeeper Lindsey Cosgray received Honorable Mention honors for the second time in her career. She ranks 18th in the country for saves with 133 for a save percentage of .465.

Also, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school. Lindsey Cosgray was chosen to represent Methodist.

The third seeded Monarchs will take on second seed Greensboro on Friday at 3:30 pm.
