FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist University Director of Athletics Bob McEvoy has announced the hiring of Courtney Falatovich to take over the dance team.

Falatovich comes to Methodist after spending time as a dance teacher and coach at Wake Forest Rolesville High School. She developed the first team in school history and grew the program to 120 members in just two years.

"Courtney will bring solid experience and great enthusiasm to our dance program," McEvoy said. "She put quality teams together at the high school level and will do the same here at MU.  Coupled with our outstanding cheer program and our new marching band, MU looks forward to a new level of excitement with our Spirit Programs this fall."

The Methodist dance team became the Lionette Dancers this fall as they performed during football games and began training for basketball. "With Courtney's dance experience and background, she will provide the technical training and elements to the Lionette Dancers to return the program to its competitive origins," Melissa Hay, Director of Spirit Programs said.

Falatovich joins the staff with 17 years of dance experience andfive years of teaching experience. She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from East Carolina University in 2006.

"My goals for the dance team include putting together a group of dancers that have not only talent for dance, but also uphold the morals, values and ethics that the University is known for achieving," Falatovich said. "My ultimate goal is for the Methodist University dance team to become a vital part of the athletic program, the campus, and the community."
