Methodist Wins USA South Cheer Championship
Monarchs claim first title since championship reinstated in 2007

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Methodist University cheerleading team brought home the USA South Cheerleading Championship Sunday after earning top honors in Charlotte, N.C.
The sport went almost a decade without a competition before the USA South brought back the conference championship in 2007. Christopher Newport has won the past two titles, before finishing second to the Monarchs on Sunday. Ferrum finished third in the competition.
The conference championship was held in conjunction with CHEERSPORT's Charlotte Grand Championship. The full results are available at:
