Methodist Falls to Covenant
Monarchs' keepers combined for 10 saves

FAYETTEVILLE, NC.- Covenant started early on Saturday morning and came away with a 3-0 victory over the Methodist men's soccer team.
Covenant (4-3-1) scored in the third minute of the game when Julian Allgeier snuck a shot past Methodist's goalkeeper Kyle Beach. The game stayed fairly quiet until the 37th minute when David Pifer scored the second goal for Covenant with a shot to the right upper corner of the goal. The Monarchs had opportunities in the first half, but were unable to capitalize.
With 16 minutes left in the second half Covenant's Scott Schindler scored off of a cross from the left side with a shot to the right corner of the goal. Methodist (3-7) had four shots on goal in the second half, but could not get one in.
Kyle Beach made three saves for the Monarchs and Ryan Gill had seven.
The Monarchs will face Chowan University at home tomorrow at 4 pm.
