CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Methodist cheerleading team took part in the USA South Athletic Conference Championship in Charlotte, N.C. Sunday afternoon at the CHEERSPORT Charlotte Grand Championship.

Last year the conference held a championship based on video routines, but this was the first year teams competed live in nearly 10 years.  The Monarchs performed a difficult routine, but finished second behind last year's champions, Christopher Newport University.  Methodist received point deductions that allowed the Captains to finish first.  Ferrum College placed third while Greensboro College came in fourth.
