FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is collecting canned food items for the annual Cans Across the Conference competition sponsored by the USA South.  

Fans who bring one canned food item to the home football games on either Oct. 18 or Nov. 1 can receive a free popcorn. Turn in all canned goods at the concessions stand to receive the free popcorn. 

The SAAC organized the canned food drive as a community service competition amongst the ten institutions in the USA South.  Each campus SAAC collects cans and other non-perishable items at their school from mid-October through mid-November to benefit a local charity. It is up to each institution to decide how they want to collect and to which group the donation would go. The institution with the most items collected will be crowned the Cans Across the Conference Champion.
